How to show datum CSYS center of gravity in Pro Engineer Wildfire 4

To show datum CSYS center of gravity in Pro Engineer Wildfire 4, we can follow these steps:

Analysis | Model | Mass Properties
Tab Analysis | Quick -> Featured | Compute (googles icon)
Tab Feature | Datums, Create CSYS_COG


The result is there will be a new Anaysis Feature MassProp in Model Tree. This analysis feature has a datum coordinate system that point the center of gravity (csys_cog). This datum can be used later on in advance analysis such as optimization of center of gravity position.

How to Hide Welding Arc in Assembly Drawing at Pro Engineer Wildfire

In Pro Engineer Wildfire, welding arcs is shown in welding assembly drawing. Unfortunately, they should not to be shows if welding symbol is present.

Here are steps to hide welding arcs if welding symbol is shown:



- Weldment dashboard: "Option | weld geometry type -> light"
- to set it automatically, "Tools | Option | weld_geom_type_default -> light.
- in assembly drawing: "Drawing view properties | view display | hidden line removal for quilts -> yes"

The result is welding arcs will be shown as thick lines in assemblydrawing and assembly model.

How to create spring / helics in AutoCAD 2010

1. Create spring helic path with "Draw | Helicx"
2. Create spring section and place it at the end of helic path.
3. Create solid spring with "Draw | Modeling | Sweep"

Creating datum points on sketch plane in Pro Engineer Wildfire 4

Here is the way to create datum points on sketch plane in Pro Engineer Wildfire 4:

Insert | Model Datum | Point | Skteched...


The result is we have some points that can be used as holes reference or spline curve references.

How to show component in strip-dot-dot lines in assembly drawing of Pro Engineering WildFire 5.0

Generally we want to show a component in strip-dot-dot lines in assembly drawing to present it has special notes.


As shown in picture above, the base plate is shown strip-dot-dot lines instead of continuous lines.

There are two ways to do that, they are:

1. Choose menu "Layout | Format | Component Display", pick component, and then select member style "Phantom" (Strip-dot-dot)

2. Choose menu "Layout | Format | Edge Display", pick the lines that are going to be changed, and then choose "Hidden Style".

The first way is used to change all component lines representation, and the second one is used to change only a few lines.
